Vendor Relations
Position Responsibilities
First point of contact for returning and potential first-time vendors.
Oversees all Festival vendors, both food, non-food & arts and crafts.
Develops and maintains relationships with vendors, cognizant of their business needs.
Maintains annual electronic database of vendors.
Manages vendor applications.
Vets potential vendors.
Ensures vendor compliance with Festival policies and city code.
Determines placement according to guidelines and city code.
Marks vendor locations within the Festival area.
Coordinates vendor electrical needs with supplier.
Coordinates vendor arrival and set-up.
Liaises with city food and fire inspectors.
Troubleshoots vendor issues during the Festival.
Coordinates vendor tear-down at the end of the Festival.
Provides vendor listing to Iowa Dept of Revenue after the Festival.
General Expectations

Understands the Festival’s mission, policies, programs, and needs

Serves as active advocate and ambassador for the Festival

Prepares for and conscientiously participates in Board meetings

Available and willing to work the majority of the Festival

Comfortable with current technologies (email, MS Office, Dropbox)

Cognizant of proper social media etiquette

Financially responsible with Festival funds
Time Commitment

Monthly Board meetings, January–October, approximately 2 hours each

In addition to monthly meetings, 1-2 hours per week on average; 2-5 hours per week Aug-Oct
